Book It!

  • Ron Brackett

Did you know that Central Florida Bible Camp has become a very popular retreat spot?  It’s true.  Over the past few years, CFBC’s campus has seen increasing popularity among denominational church groups and secular groups, such as the Girl Scouts and local schools.  In fact, last year approximately 17% of our annual revenue came from rental fees of these “outside” groups.

We are consistently told such things as the following:

  • Your facilities are great—the buildings and grounds are
    well-maintained
  • The camp is very reasonably priced
  • There’s a lot to do and we don’t have to walk long distances from one activity to another
  • The campus is sooo peaceful

Unfortunately, these groups seem to be better at planning ahead than we in churches of Christ sometimes are.  And while that rental income helps us keep our summer camp fees low, it also presents us with a potential problem: not having dates available for our own brethren to utilize the camp’s facilities.  If you look at our online calendar, you will see that nearly every weekend in 2014 is booked, except for during the month of December.

The camp’s Board of Directors would like nothing more than to be so busy with events from our own fellowship that we would not be able nor have the need to rent to other groups.  But that is just not realistic.

So here is what we request of all of you who are involved with planning your congregation’s events.  First of all, please keep Central Florida Bible Camp in mind as a venue for some of your events.  Our campus is ideal for youth events, weekend retreats, elder/deacon leadership planning activities, one-day church family events, etc.  Second, please set the dates for these activities well in advance.  We really want to see you here, but as good stewards, we can’t afford to turn our back on needed revenue from outside groups.

If you have questions about how we can serve you better or how we can assist you in planning your event, please don’t hesitate to call.

God bless you in all your efforts for the Lord.
